And grasp the heav­en­ly prize,...

...Are watched with more than shep­herd’s care,

Sweet dar­ling on thy mo­ther’s knee,...

...To pluck from His hand

It nev­er, nev­er can be done....

Accept Him as a wel­come guest,...

...And Sa­tan trem­bles, when he sees

While Mo­ses stood with arms spread wide,...

...Still rest­ing in Thy care.

...Pity for sor­row, and hat­red for sin.

And cour­age for right,...

...Thou us­est all Thy works,

Each has a serv­ice of its own,...

...Their fu­ry shall nev­er our stead­fast­ness shock,

God rul­eth on high, al­migh­ty to save,...

...In per­fect love, and fault­less tone.

Who here in spir­it bend the knee;...

...God, whose ten­der mer­cy car­eth

If in for­mer times of glad­ness,...
