A Bright and Glorious Hope

A bright and glorious hope is ours

We have no portion here;

Our hearts would seek the things above

Till Thou

Lord

shalt appear.

The world thro’ which we pass is that

Which crucified the Lord

And how can we have any joy

Where Thou art still ignored?

The time is hastening swiftly on

When He will come again

And o’er the earth

renewed and blessed

With all His saints to reign.

To us ’tis giv’n to suffer still

Until that joyful hour;And greater glory this we deemThan earthly pomp or power.
