Beyond the Beautiful Gate

I bear with pa­tience ev­ery care

And watch and pray and wait;

For soon the life-crown I shall wear

Beyond the pear­ly gate.

Beyond the beau­ti­ful gate ab­ove

How hap­py I shall be;

At rest with Je­sus and those I love

For all eter­ni­ty.

In vain the storms of life will sweep

Upon my trust­ing soul

For I am sure the Lord will keep

And safe­ly guide thru all.

For me my friends in glo­ry wait

And soon I’ll cease to roam

And meet them at the pear­ly gate

Of my eter­nal home.

My soul is rest­ing in His love

And He will lead me right

Till I am safe with Him ab­ove

There life is sweet and bright.
