Hide Not Thy Face

Hide not Thy face from me

O Lord

Dark was the path dark that I have trod;

No light

no sunshine could I see

When Thou didst hide Thy face from me;

But Thy dear smile makes sweet sunshine

To fill this weary heart of mine.

Low at Thy cross

on bended knee

I seek a blessing

Lord

from Thee;

Lift up my heart in praise and song

And let the song-wave roll along

Till other souls shall catch the strain

And sing aloud the glad refrain.

O let my life a blessing be

A living light to shine for Thee;

A light of love in darkness bring

To saddened souls now lost in sin

To point them to the heav’nly place

In joy to see Thee face to face.
