Thee we have our pro­mise giv­en

And in Thee we will con­fide.

For among all earth­ly voic­es

Thine alone our heart re­joic­es

Be Thou hence our strength and guide.

Lead us through life’s dark­some maz­es

Lift us o’er the thor­ny plac­es

Shield us from the parch­ing sun.

Grant us strength when faint and wea­ry

Comfort when the way is drea­ry

Guard us till our race is won.

May we fol­low Thee in meek­ness

Help us ov­er­come our weak­ness

Melt our heart with grace and love.

Let Thy name be burned with­in us

So that naught from Thee shall win us

Till Thou call­est us above.
