Jesus Stood on the Shore

Jesus stood on the shore

When the morning came

Appearing to His friends once more;

The belovèd disciple knew the Lord

Who loved him as in days of yore.

Jesus stands on the shore today

Helping struggling souls by the way;

On the land

or wave

Jesus waits to save

He never turns a soul away.

Jesus stood by the way

When the beggar blind

For mercy cried thro’ nature’s night;

As he cast down his garments at His feet

By faith he there received his sight.

Jesus stood by the grave

Of the friend He loved

And showed His resurrection power;

Quickly gave the command

Come forth

come forth

Unloose

and let him go this hour.

Jesus standeth today at the mercy-seat

Our advocate with God above;

Shows His nail piercèd hands

And pleading stands

Unchanging in His wondrous love.
