Self con­cealed

faith works its won­ders

Trusts the mer­it of the blood;

Claims for Christ the sin­ner’s ran­som

Leads the pe­ni­tent to God.

Less of self and more of Je­sus

As in so­cial life we meet;

May the beau­ties of sal­va­tion

Others lead to Je­sus’ feet.

Not in vain ex­alt we Je­sus

Not in vain hide self away;

Great the joy and sweet the plea­sure

Heaven grants us on our way.
