Rejoice and Shout Aloud

Not yet be­neath our cap­tain’s feet

Lie sin and death

and pain and woe;

Not yet the an­them

clear and sweet

Of Heav’n

ab­ove

on earth

Rejoice and shout aloud

For soon the time will be

When light shall break the cloud

When Christ shall reign su­preme

Eternally.

Yet come it shall

and ev­en now

Faith views the vic­to­ry as won;

All hearts must yield

all knees must bend

To God’s be­loved

an­oint­ed Son.

Like bu­gle blast

rings clear and strong

That pledge of pro­phet

from afar;

He shall not fail to right the wrong

The isles shall speed the con­quer­or’s car.
