Seeking, Calling, Knocking

Jesus is waiting to welcome the weary

Worn with the world’s fruitless striving for peace;

Tired with a night-watch that knoweth no morning

Sick with a heartache that earth cannot ease.

Jesus is seeking; Jesus is calling;

Will you not come to Him now?

Jesus is knocking; Jesus is waiting

Waiting to save you now.

Jesus is waiting

He standeth and knocketh

Calling in love unto each one oppressed?

Come unto Me

sinner

weary and laden;

I will receive you and give you My rest.

Will you not come? you need no preparation;

Stay not to think

but come just as you are.

Bring nothing with you

for love giveth freely

Peace—perfect peace—that no sorrow can mar.

O

I am yearning to see you unburdened;

Death did I suffer that you might be free.

Will you not come

and by life consecration

Try to win others

and bring them to Me?
