Shall We Be Parted There?

To the bar of God on high

We’re go­ing by and by

Where sad part­ings we shall see

And oh! shall we be part­ed there?

With the mill­ions we shall stand

Arraigned at ei­ther hand

And shall hear the words of life

Or of death and dark des­pair.

When with the world in judg­ment we shall be?

Will our Re­deem­er say

Enter My rest for aye

Or you are doomed with the lost ones

To spend eter­ni­ty?

We a strict ac­count must give

For ev­ery day we live

Are we tru­ly serv­ing Christ

And oh! shall we be part­ed there?

Some with joy to Heav’n will go

Some to the world be­low;

Let us by the help of God

For that won­drous day pre­pare.

Hope of meet­ing cheers the heart

When here true friends must part

But ’twill be for ev­er­more

If in ang­uish we’re part­ed there;

We may all as heirs with Christ
