So near the cleans­ing fount­ain

In this the Gos­pel day

O guil­ty one! awak­en

And wash thy sins away.

Salvation

peace and par­don

The Lord will free­ly give;

The way of life is ea­sy

’Tis on­ly

Look and live.

So near the re­fuge ci­ty

Then why not en­ter in?

Pass through the op­en gate­way

And life eter­nal win.

So near the fold of Je­sus

No long­er stay out­side;

Come

find a peace­ful shel­ter

Where God’s re­deemed ab­ide.

So near the lov­ing Sav­ior

Why stand in fear and doubt?

In sim­ple faith ap­proach Him

He will not cast thee out.

So near the great Phy­si­cian

Go

touch His gar­ment’s hem;

See

while His saints ad­ore Him

What grace has done for them.

So near the ark of safe­ty

Arise

and en­ter thou;

The storm of wrath is burst­ing!

O soul! es­cape it now!
