The Peace of God

The peace of God—O bless­èd peace

That fills the heart and calms our fears

That bids our soul’s wild tu­mult cease

And gives us sun­light thro’ our tears.

We’ll rest in this won­der­ful peace

So blest and so filled with God’s love

Till our souls find hap­py re­lease

And we reach the man­sions ab­ove.

That bids our rest­less souls be still

Till thro’ the clouds the sun doth shine

And we be­hold His per­fect will.

Thro’ all life’s chang­ing scenes be­low;

In this we’ll rest till life shall cease

And Heav’n’s eter­nal peace we know.
