Thou, Lord, Hast Dealt Well with Thy Servant

Thou

Lord

hast dealt well with Thy servant

Thy promise is faithful and just;

Instruct me in judgment and knowledge

For in Thy commandments I trust.

Before my affliction I wandered

But now Thy good Word I obey;

O Thou who art holy and gracious

Now teach me Thy statutes

I pray.

The proud have assailed me with slander;

Thy precepts shall still be my guide;

Thy law is my joy and my treasure

Though sinners may boast in their pride.

Affliction has been for my profit

That I to Thy statutes might hold;

Thy law to my soul is more precious

Than thousands of silver and gold.
